Visions In Sound Bio

For more than 35 years, Rob Daniels has built a career around one thing: bringing stories to life.

His journey through the world of media has taken him behind the camera, behind the microphone and onto the stage. Rob has worked in television as a Producer, Director and Editor, in radio as a Music Director and Production Engineer, and appeared on stage with Drayton Entertainment in productions of Twist and Shout and Legends of Rock and Roll.

Since 2000, Rob has combined his love of broadcasting with his passion for film music as the host of Visions In Sound, a radio program dedicated to the music of movies, television and video games, heard on FM 98.5 CKWR. Over the years, the program has given Rob the opportunity to interview some of the people responsible for creating the music behind the images, including acclaimed composers Howard Shore (The Lord of the Rings), John Powell (The Bourne Identity, How to Train Your Dragon) and Lolita Ritmanis (Batman: The Animated Series, Batman: The Killing Joke), among many others.

Rob even managed to find his way onto the other side of the movie screen in 2014, making a brief appearance in The Asylum’s wonderfully larger-than-life creature feature Mega Shark vs. Mecha Shark.

And then there’s the voice.

Having lent his voice to hundreds of commercials throughout his career, Rob brings decades of broadcasting, performance and storytelling experience to his latest role—providing the voice of The Night Spike.

From radio studios and television control rooms to theatre stages, movie sets and the world of voice performance, Rob’s career has been anything but ordinary—and after more than three decades, he’s still finding new stories to tell.
